SUMMIT CHAUFFEURS

Highlights and aspirations – The Summit looks back at 2022 and forward to 2023

There have been highs and lows, but on the whole, it really has been a fantastic year for The Summit Executive Chauffeurs. Since this is the time for reflection and making resolutions, we thought we’d take a look back at some of the more memorable moments of 2022 and let you in on what we’re looking forward to next year…

The highs and some adversity

The incredible launch event for the Cotswold Airport’s newest conference venue put the former British Airways 747 centre stage. That was really was an imposing sight and one I will always remember.

I was incredibly proud to serve the football community this year, by acting as executive chauffeur to some VIPs involved with Soccer Aid. It was a groundbreaking year for football on the whole, with the gay community being empowered by some brave players and of course the Lionesses ‘bringing it home’. I love it, and I love being chosen to be part of it.

I was also utterly flattered to be chosen as one of a select group of executive chauffeurs for Team England at The Commonwealth Games. You may remember my Instagram posts from the VIP lounge, I certainly will, for a very long time…

Be Free Young Carers Awards Night. What can I say about this journey? It was an honour to give my time to drive the award-winning young carers so they could experience a night of luxury and stardom. They give their lives to care for someone in their family, often missing out on the things a ‘normal’ childhood should provide. These children were an inspiration to me.

Back in June I was in a very affluent area with two of my executive vehicles, taking care of my VIPs. I returned to my parked cars to find that they had both had their windows smashed and were completely un-drivable. Luckily nothing else had been damaged and as they are chauffeur vehicles, nothing of value was inside. I do count myself incredibly lucky to be part of an amazing chauffeur network, who came to my clients’ aid to complete their journey. It simply reminded me that in every crisis there is an opportunity to demonstrate your goodness.

Only recently I announced the launch of the new online booking portal. My aim is always to make life better for my clients and their executive assistants and PAs. I am pleased to say that I have already been getting some favourable feedback on how the portal is making booking and managing your chauffeur driven journeys easier.

There have been too many wonderful moments to mention in just one blog; being thanked for my discretion and respect for not asking for selfies happens frequently and is something I will always uphold, being quietly and respectfully distant to allow my clients to feel comfortable is often noted, hence ‘the invisible chauffeur’ and reuniting boarding students with their loving families for the holidays is always a joy, especially when storm Eunice changed everyone’s travel plans!

I look forward to many more moments like those, in 2023. I shall be introducing new drivers to the team, furthering the training in first aid and safe/defensive driving and continuing my ongoing professional relationship with the Guild of Professional Chauffeurs. 2022, it’s been a pleasure (most of the time)…
