SUMMIT CHAUFFEURS

Royal Ascot – A chauffeur’s eye view

Did you know that the tradition of Royal Ascot began in 1711 when Queen Anne rode horseback from Windsor castle to Ascot in Berkshire and declared that the route she took would make an ideal racetrack?

Due to the royal connections dating back centuries, the 5-day racing event is to this day believed to be one of the most exclusive and prestigious events in the world. As an executive chauffeur, I have had the pleasure of driving clients to this iconic venue on numerous occasions. From the stunning grounds to the world-class hospitality, Ascot is truly a one-of-a-kind experience.

Striking grandeur and unrivalled hospitality

One of the first things that strike me when I arrive at Ascot is the grandeur of the place. The magnificent stands, perfectly manicured lawns, and beautifully landscaped gardens create a sense of luxury and elegance that’s hard to find anywhere else. An executive chauffeurs job is to make sure guests feel just as special as their surroundings.

The experience of arriving at Ascot is something that my principals and their guests always remember. As we drive up to the entrance, they can feel the excitement and anticipation building. The sight of the famous Ascot grandstand, with its iconic roof, is truly a sight to behold.

Upon arrival, I am on hand to preserve my clients’ dignity by escorting them from the vehicle, often blocking the view of prying cameras, and if required escort them to the VIP entrance. Here they are greeted by a team of courteous and attentive staff. From there, they are whisked away to their private box, where they can enjoy the races in style. It is both my responsibility and my honour to make sure that everything runs smoothly, and my guests have everything they need to make the most of their day.

Luxurious style at every step

One of the highlights of any trip to Ascot is the opportunity to dress up and show off your style. For many of my guests, this is a chance to don their finest suits or dresses and enjoy a day of glamour and sophistication, adhering to the strict dress code of course. And that sophistication is echoed in my own presentation. I always make sure to wear my best uniform, have my chauffeur’s cap to hand and keep my car immaculate, to match the high standards set by Ascot.

Eyes on the road and on the action

Of course, one of the main attractions of Ascot is the racing itself. With some of the best horses and jockeys in the world competing, the atmosphere is electric. Part of my job as an executive chauffeur is to be on my toes to make sure my clients don’t miss any of the action. I always keep an eye on the race schedule and make sure that my clients are in the right place at the right time.

When the racing is over and it’s time to unwind and enjoy some of the many other attractions Ascot has to offer, I’m ready and waiting to transport my guests wherever they wish to go. From fine dining to live music, there’s always something going on at this iconic venue. As an executive chauffeur, I double up as a concierge and I’m always on hand to make sure my clients get the most out of their experience.

Ascot is truly a special place and it’s an honour to be able to drive my clients to such a prestigious venue. From the grandeur of the surroundings to the excitement of the racing, Ascot is an experience that’s hard to forget. I aim to give my guests the time of their lives and take great pride in delivering an exceptional level of service.
