I arrived onto English soil from Romania in 2015 with great ambition and a desire to be a success for me and my family; my wife Raluca and our 14 year old son.
I began life in the construction industry as language and opportunities were limited to begin with, but slowly with effort, and a huge work ethic, my confidence grew and I began to think about what I really wanted – to drive.
How did I become an executive chauffeur?
I tried my hand at multi-drop deliveries for a household name and got better at driving; yes, believe it or not, some ‘white van men’ are good drivers too!
Whilst I did this I applied for private hire licensing and with little idea of what might be, I stepped into the world of private hire driving.
Soon though, we would be in lockdown…
It became apparent that I would lose the many furlough schemes that would have been available to me had I stayed in my original construction employment, but could anyone have guessed what was going to happen?
I spoke to some other people in the private hire industry and the name that came up regularly was Rehan’s, at The Summit.
So, I reached out and we clicked.
He got me.
I got him.
And we started to work together – And still do.
My car may have changed – I went from my trusty 2018 Mercedes S Class to a ‘25 plate S Class, and I love my car almost as much as I love my family – but my dedication to my family has never changed. I always enjoy going on holiday, happy to leave my car behind (for a short while), and my work ethic has remained strong – I always feel relieved when I get back behind the wheel!
If ever I win the lottery or if someone gave me a really huge tip, I would buy my favourite car – A pickup SUV, with a small boat attached behind so I could go fishing all day long…
